Welcome to the CONY family!
Membership is open to any independently owned campground or RV park in New York State. Associate membership is also extended to vendors doing business in the outdoor hospitality industry. As a trade association, CONY does not inspect nor rate its members (but does encourage them to achieve high standards). We accommodate both large and small campgrounds with our dues structure (based, in part, on the number of sites).
As a member, you benefit from CONY’s mission of promotion, growth, improvement, and development of independently owned campgrounds. And CONY is membership-lead! The board of directors is made up of campground operators like you, and they shape the direction we’re going to better serve our industry today and into the future.
What are we all about? Here are a few key takeaways:
Legislative Awareness and Action: CONY is actively involved in legislative activities at the local, state and national level. We engage a lobbyist that assists us in addressing issues that affect the outdoor hospitality industry, and actively participate in organizations and events that champion the interests of the tourism industry, including Tourism Action Day in Albany. Our association has had many positive impacts over the years on legislation and laws that affect your business operation, including such issues as evictions and pool operations, just to name two.
Professional Development: We provide hands on training sessions (like CPR and Pool Rescue) and personal and professional improvement through seminars and information sessions at our annual events.
Networking: Never underestimate the power of sharing ideas and questions with your fellow campground operators! We offer a lot of structured and unstructured events at our annual events, including regional campground meetings, spring zone meetings (mini one-day conferences), and the annual Exposition for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry and Trade Show. All planned, organized and shared with you by your fellow campground owners and the CONY staff.
Visibility: We do robust marketing of our campgrounds through our website, social media, and our annual print directory, which is distributed by the thousands at RV shows, consumer travel shows, information centers, RV dealers, and direct mail upon request.
Business-to-Business (B2B) Opportunities: Our Trade/Supplier Associate Members are businesses that provide products and services to members of the Campground Owners of New York. These companies are dedicated to our association and the camping industry. Please support our Associate Members whenever possible when making your purchasing decision.
